In the “Please share anything that will help prepare for our meeting” box, write two to four lines: why you booked, the one outcome you want from the call, any context the host needs (role, company, budget, deadline), and a link if useful. If you have nothing specific, one line about your goal is enough.
The question appears on many booking forms because it is a default on Calendly. A Calendly community moderator confirms that name, email and “Please share anything” are default questions that hosts can change or remove. Below are 30 example answers grouped by situation, then a section for hosts on which questions to ask instead.
What to write in 'Please share anything that will help prepare for our meeting'
Use this four-part formula. You rarely need all four. Two good lines beat a paragraph.
| Part | What it answers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Context | Who you are, in one line | Final-year B.Com student at Symbiosis, Pune |
| Goal | What you want from this call | I want to know if your CA services cover GST filing for a small café |
| Specifics | Numbers, dates, constraints | Turnover about ₹40 lakh, need to file by 20 Nov |
| Links | Anything they should glance at first | Resume, portfolio, website or a short doc |
Write it the way you would message a professional on WhatsApp: polite, short and specific. Avoid “N/A” or a single dot. If you really have nothing to add, “Looking forward to the conversation, no specific agenda” is better than a blank. If you have not picked who to book yet, see this guide to finding and booking an expert online.

What not to write in a booking form notes box
- Passwords, OTPs, bank account numbers or card details. No genuine professional needs these in a notes field.
- Aadhaar or PAN numbers. Share identity documents only through a channel the professional specifically asks for, and only if needed.
- Your full medical history. Give a one-line reason for the visit; details belong in the session or a secure intake form.
- Long complaints about a previous provider. Keep it to what you need now.
- Just “N/A”, “-” or “nothing”. One line about your goal helps the host more.
For hosts: what to ask instead of 'Please share anything'
An open-ended box gets blank or vague answers because clients do not know what you need. Two or three specific questions get you better preparation in less time. A short set of targeted questions is also kinder to privacy: India's DPDP framework lists data minimisation and purpose limitation among its core principles, so ask only for what you will use. If the meeting is a short call, our guide to setting up a 30 minute call covers the rest of the prep.
| If you are a | Replace 'Please share anything' with |
|---|---|
| Recruiter | Which role are you interviewing for? What is your notice period? Link to your resume or portfolio. |
| Software or SaaS seller | How many people will use it? What tool do you use today? What is the one thing it must do? |
| CA, lawyer or consultant | What is the issue in one line? Is there a deadline? Which documents can you share before the call? |
| Therapist or counsellor | What brings you here (one line is fine)? Have you had therapy before? Preferred language? |
| Coach | What outcome would make this call worth it? What have you already tried? |
| Tutor | Student's class and board? Subject and topic they find hardest? Preferred days and times? |
- 01Keep it to 2-4 questions. Every extra field lowers the chance a client finishes booking.
- 02Make one question required and the rest optional.
- 03Use dropdowns for anything with fixed options, such as class, board or language.
- 04Ask for sensitive details later, in the session or a secure intake form, not on the booking page.
- 05Read the answers before the call. Clients notice when you have.
If you use Calendly, the questions live in the event type under More options, in the Invitee form section. For a full set of question banks by profession, see our guide to client intake form questions, and the glossary entry on what an intake form is.
Booking, payment and intake with Book A Sloth
Book A Sloth handles the booking and payment part: clients pick a slot on your page at bookasloth.com/yourname, verify with a phone OTP and pay up-front by UPI or card, and the booking confirms on payment. It does not have a built-in intake form builder. For the questions above, keep a short Google Form and share its link in your booking notes or on WhatsApp once the booking confirms. See how booking pages work, or the setup for therapists. Our appointment confirmation message templates include a line you can adapt for sharing that form link.
Common questions
Is the 'Please share anything that will help prepare for our meeting' field mandatory?
It depends on how the host set up the booking form. On Calendly it is a default question that hosts can edit, remove or switch off. If it is required and you have nothing to add, write one line about your goal for the meeting.
What should I write if I have nothing to share before a meeting?
Write one polite line that states your purpose, such as: Looking forward to discussing the role, no specific agenda from my side. That is better than N/A or a blank, and it confirms you are a real, engaged attendee.
How long should my answer be?
Two to four lines is ideal. Cover why you booked, what you want from the call and one useful detail such as a deadline, budget or link. Hosts often read these on a phone just before the meeting, so short and specific wins.
What should I write for a job interview booking?
Mention the role you applied for, one line on your relevant experience, your notice period if asked, and a link to your resume or portfolio. You can also ask about the interview format so you can prepare. If you still need to reply to the invite itself, see how to acknowledge an interview email.
Should I share personal or medical details in a booking form?
Keep it to a one-line reason. Do not put passwords, OTPs, bank details, Aadhaar numbers or a full medical history in a notes box. If the professional needs more, they will ask during the session or through a proper intake form.
