Categories that actually make sense, and the small fixes nobody writes threads about

Not every week is a headline. Some weeks you stop a photographer from filing their service under dental checkups, and stop one bad request from whiting out the whole page.

This one is a maintenance week, and maintenance weeks are where products quietly get good. No fireworks. Just a stack of things that were slightly wrong, now slightly right, and a product that trusts you a little more each time you open it.

Categories that cannot contradict themselves

Service categories used to be a bit of a free-for-all. It was technically possible to tag a service into a category that belonged to an entirely different profession, and a yoga instructor filed under legal services helps precisely nobody. We locked that down so categories stay inside the profession they belong to, which also quietly improves how your services get found and indexed by search engines.

On top of that, hosts can now suggest their own subcategories. If the taxonomy has no shelf for what you do, propose one, a human approves it, and the menu gets better for the next person in your line of work. The platform learns your industry from the people actually standing in it, which is the only reliable way to learn an industry.

The unglamorous fixes

If you had verified your WhatsApp number, it now actually appears in your Social Links instead of hiding. Turns out “verified” and “public” were two different states, and we were quietly conflating them.

The white screen of nope

A single failed page chunk used to be able to take down the whole screen. Now the error boundary resets on navigation, so one hiccup no longer holds your entire session hostage while you mash refresh.

None of this will trend. But the gap between a product you trust and one you tolerate is almost never the flashy feature, it is whether the small stuff works when you are not looking. This week was the small stuff, handled. If you verified your number a while ago and it never showed up, go check your profile, it is there now.
