Explore knows what it’s doing now, and the app stopped feeling like a website

For a while, the Explore page ranked services by vibes. New listing near the top, older ones drifting down, none of it connected to whether the service was any good. If you were a brilliant host who joined early, you got quietly buried under people who joined last Tuesday. That always felt backwards, so we fixed it.

A ranking you earn, not one you buy

Every active service now gets a quality score from 0 to 100, built from things you actually control: how complete your listing is, your ratings and review history, how responsive you are, how many guests come back. Browse with no search and we sort by that score. Search for something, and we multiply the score by how well your title, category, and description match your words. Quality times relevance. That is the whole model.

No bid, no boost, no “featured” fee to skip the queue. If your listing is thin, the fix is not a credit card, it is twenty minutes filling in the parts you skipped. It is a friendlier system than most of the discovery algorithms you have wrestled with, because for once the rules are written down.

Two people, one slot, never again

Here is a genuinely nasty problem in any booking system: two guests open the same 4 PM slot, both pay, and now you owe two people the same half hour. We closed that at the database level, so the system physically refuses to write a second overlapping booking, grace windows and all. You will never notice it working, which is the entire point of a good safety net.

The app got a lot more app-like

If you run your host account from your phone, and most of you do, this is the update your thumbs will feel. Infinite-scrolling feeds instead of pagination. Bottom sheets instead of clunky pop-ups. Real loading, error, and success states instead of a spinner and a silent prayer. Safe-area handling so nothing hides behind the notch. Small things, stacked high, until the whole thing stops reminding you it is technically a web page.

Your profile card also has a native share button now. One tap, straight into whatever app you were about to paste the link into anyway.
