GST invoice
A GST invoice is a tax-compliant bill that shows the base fee and the GST charged on top, split into CGST and SGST for an intra-state supply. Indian professionals above the registration threshold must issue one for taxable services. Book A Sloth can generate a GST-ready invoice automatically for every paid booking.
Why gst invoice matters
A GST invoice is the bill a GST-registered business issues for a taxable supply. For a service it shows your name, address and GSTIN, the client's details, an invoice number and date, a description of the service (usually with its SAC code), the taxable value and the tax charged. For a client in your own state the tax is split into CGST and SGST. For a client in another state it is IGST.
It matters because business clients need it to claim input tax credit, and because your GST returns must match the invoices you issued. Professionals below the registration threshold do not charge GST, but companies and clinics that pay you may still ask for a proper invoice for their records.
Issuing invoices by hand after every session is easy to fall behind on. A booking system that creates the invoice at payment keeps the numbering, amounts and dates in order. On Book A Sloth each paid booking gets an invoice for the client, and on the free Sloth plan you also receive a tax invoice for the commission, so you can claim the input credit.
Example
A Kochi chartered accountant's client company books a ₹3,000 tax-planning call, pays online and receives the invoice automatically, so their accounts team never has to ask for it.
