UPI payment
UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is India's instant, bank-to-bank payment system used by apps like PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm. For a booking business it means clients can pay a deposit or the full fee in seconds from their phone. Book A Sloth accepts UPI (plus cards, net banking and wallets) through Razorpay at the time of booking.
Why upi payment matters
UPI lets anyone pay straight from their bank account using a phone number, a UPI ID or a QR code, in seconds and at any hour. It is run by NPCI, and most Indian clients already use a UPI app such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm or their bank's own app. For a professional, that makes it the lowest-friction way to collect a fee.
The trouble with sharing a personal UPI ID or QR code is everything after the payment. You check your bank app, match the amount to the client, chase the screenshot, and keep records for tax. Payments to a personal account are also hard to tie to a specific session if a client later disputes one.
Collecting UPI through a booking page fixes that. The client pays at checkout, the payment is matched to the booking automatically, and both of you get a confirmation. On Book A Sloth UPI payments run through Razorpay alongside cards and netbanking, every paid booking gets an invoice, and each payout comes with a statement.
Example
A Nagpur nutritionist stops sending her personal QR code after calls; clients now pay ₹1,200 by Google Pay on her booking page before the consultation, and each payment sits against the right booking.
