Preferred time

A preferred time is the date and time a client says suits them best when asking for an appointment. Request forms collect it as a wish that you accept or counter. A live booking page skips that step by letting the client pick an open slot directly.

Why preferred time matters

Many enquiry forms and WhatsApp chats run on preferred times: name, phone number, preferred time. The client writes "evening after 6", you check your diary, reply with an option, and the client answers a few hours later. Each round trip is a chance for the client to book someone else.

Preferred times are still a useful signal. If most requests ask for weekends or after 7 pm, your availability should reflect that. Tutors see this around school timings, salons around festival weeks, and consultants with clients who can only talk after office hours.

The faster route is to show the client real open slots and let them choose. On Book A Sloth clients see only the times you are free, shown in your time zone, and the booking is confirmed when they pay. If many clients ask for a time you do not offer, consider opening it in your weekly hours.

Example

A Kanpur coaching institute's enquiry form used to ask for a "preferred demo time"; it now sends parents a booking link showing the week's open demo slots, and a parent picks Saturday 11 am.
