WhatsApp reminder
A WhatsApp reminder is an automated booking reminder sent over WhatsApp instead of, or alongside, email. In India most clients read WhatsApp far more reliably than email, so it is the channel most likely to be seen before the session. Book A Sloth sends booking reminders over WhatsApp and email automatically.
Why whatsapp reminder matters
A WhatsApp reminder is an appointment reminder sent on WhatsApp, usually alongside an email. Most Indian clients already talk to their tutor, clinic or salon on WhatsApp, so a reminder there is more likely to be read in time than one sitting in an inbox.
Automated reminders from a business go through the WhatsApp Business Platform using pre-approved message templates. That is why they arrive from a business sender and follow the same format each time. Clients should be able to reply STOP to opt out, and a well-run system honours it.
Keep the message short: name, service, date, time, and the location or video link. Two reminders per booking is plenty. On Book A Sloth reminders go to both you and the client. On the free Sloth plan, WhatsApp reminders run for the first 60 days after signup, and the 24-hour reminder continues by email after that. Sloth Active sends WhatsApp and email reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before every booking. STOP opt-outs are honoured.
Example
A Bhopal patient gets a WhatsApp message the evening before: "Reminder: skin consultation tomorrow at 11:00 am at the clinic", and replies to the clinic only because she needs to move it.
