Commission

Commission is a cut the platform takes from every booking, so the more you earn the more you pay. Many booking and creator platforms charge it. Book A Sloth's free Sloth plan takes 5% of paid bookings; Sloth Active takes 0% for a flat yearly price, so your price does not scale against you.

Why commission matters

Commission is a percentage the platform keeps from each booking, so it grows with your price. At 10%, a ₹500 session costs you ₹50 and a ₹5,000 session costs you ₹500, for the same work by the platform. It makes most sense when the platform finds the client for you. When you bring the client yourself, through Instagram, referrals or your own clinic, a percentage cut is harder to justify.

Compare commission with a fixed subscription using your own monthly bookings. At low volume a small percentage can be cheaper. Past a certain point, a flat monthly fee costs less. Work out your break-even before choosing a plan.

Book A Sloth has two plans. The free Sloth plan charges 5% commission per paid booking. Sloth Active costs ₹399 a month or ₹3,599 a year, GST included, and charges 0% commission. On monthly billing the break-even is about ₹8,000 of bookings a month (5% of ₹7,980 is ₹399). On yearly billing, about ₹300 a month, it is ₹6,000. The payment gateway's charge applies on both plans.

Example

A Bengaluru coach earning ₹40,000 a month from bookings would pay ₹2,000 in commission at 5%, against ₹399 for a month of Sloth Active at 0%.
