Platform fee

A platform fee is a fixed amount charged per booking. Unlike commission, it does not grow with your price. On Book A Sloth the client pays a flat ₹10 booking fee (plus GST) on top of your price, on every plan, so a bigger booking does not mean a bigger platform cut.

Why platform fee matters

A platform fee is a fixed charge per booking or transaction, set in rupees rather than as a percentage. Because it stays the same whether the session costs ₹300 or ₹3,000, it is easier to predict than commission and it does not penalise higher prices.

Check who pays it. Some platforms deduct it from your earnings. Others add it to the client's checkout total, like a convenience fee on a movie or train ticket. Either way, show clients the full amount before they pay, so nothing surprises them at checkout and nobody feels misled.

On Book A Sloth the client pays a ₹10 booking fee plus GST on that fee, ₹11.80 in total, on top of your price at checkout. Free (₹0) sessions carry no booking fee. Separately, you pay the payment gateway's charge, plus a 5% commission on the free Sloth plan. Sloth Active removes the commission for a flat ₹399 a month or ₹3,599 a year, GST included.

Example

A client booking a ₹1,500 counselling session in Indore pays ₹1,511.80 at checkout: the counsellor's ₹1,500 fee, the ₹10 booking fee and ₹1.80 GST on that fee.
